福島孝徳教授は、1998年以来Duke大学病院、Duke Raleigh病院、Wake Med郡立病院等にて複雑困難な脳血管・頭蓋底病変の患者を2500人以上、手術治療を行ってきました。
その間、リスク0.5%、全治率90%という驚異的な成績をあげ、且つFaculty及びレジデントに対する密接な実地臨床教育を精力的に拡充しました。さらにDUKE大学福島頭蓋底研究室において、28名の日本人留学研究生とともに、学術論文80編という内外に誇る業績を挙げてきました。
ここに福島教授の15年間の貢献を讃え、年次カンファレンスにおいて表彰されました。
